California coastal amphibious humanoids are unclassified animals documented in eleven encounters over six weeks along ninety miles of northern California shoreline.[1, 2]
Appearance
The animals can move bipedally but stand about one metre at the shoulder when on all fours. Wet slate-grey skin, long forelimbs with four unwebbed digits, a pink oral fold and lateral spherical eyes without visible sclera recur across observations.
Behaviour
Sightings cluster before dawn at low tide on flat beaches. Movement occurs in short bursts separated by crouching pauses with the head raised toward the surf, provisionally interpreted as acoustic orientation. Low pulsed clicks were recorded on three occasions. Two encounters twelve days apart at one estuary may indicate site fidelity or a resident population.
Evidence limits
The imagery consists of distant handheld video in poor light. No physical specimen, tissue sample or track cast has been recovered, and the resolution does not support species-level identification.
