The avian genetics programme develops modified birds, humanoid avians and human–avian hybrids. Some retain fully animal bodies; others combine human DNA, avian skeletal traits and mechanical systems.[1, 2]
Applications
Subjects serve as assistants and labour units. Human augmentations replace or reinforce limbs, posture and balance using avian anatomy and cybernetics. Larger bodies have been tested as rideable transport in controlled and semi-public settings. The Giragull is a separately named giant avian build.
Development and field trials
Early designs used conspicuous machinery and structural support. Later versions conceal more hardware while retaining internal cybernetics. Some field-trial subjects were never recovered, and sightings continue outside laboratories.
