The Chilean conveyor cave is a subterranean installation exposed by a sinkhole. It contains fossilised conveyor belts, gears, tracks and skeletons reported to be approximately ten thousand years old.[1]
Survey
Some skeletons retain working postures and grip rusted components. Belts include cracked leather, and some skulls are described as nonstandard without a formal identification. A Nanophage Research drone documented half a mile of belt systems extending toward a collapsed shaft.
Unresolved function
Testing suggested metalwork inconsistent with the proposed period around 8000 BCE, but the caption gives no assay details. Mining and unknown industrial functions remain proposals. The material being transported and the builders’ identities are unknown.
