The Polyhybrid Nanophage Chimera is a companion organism combining traits from multiple animals through nanophage-directed assembly. Early products were tailored to individual owners; later orders use fully custom specifications.[1, 2, 3]
Original product
The initial offer describes fish scales, luminous jellyfish-like tendrils and panther-like agility within a single organism. A customer saliva sample informs the design. Assembly takes place in a transparent gestation pod, with appearance and behaviour responsive to the owner’s state of mind. Recorded examples include a humming feathered serpent and a spiky feline that watches the door.
The original announcement gives a starting price of $1.2 million. The later closure notice calls the former catalogue rate one million dollars. Both figures are retained; neither is the rate of the replacement custom-order arrangement.
Replacement of the catalogue
Nanophage Research now accepts animals specified from scratch, using nanophage-directed gene editing and splicing to produce viable live deliveries. Body plan, metabolism and the nervous system required to operate the body are part of the specification. The old catalogue and its million-dollar rate have been superseded.
Current invoices
The institution bills by the edit, with a starting figure fifty-two digits long. The caption describes this as an itemised count whose unit is not disclosed, rather than an ordinary monetary price. Nine orders have been placed under the new arrangement. All nine animals were delivered and every invoice is marked settled.
