Interior and equipment
The recorded room has pale tiled walls and flooring, a preparation counter, a refrigerator and dense bundles of exposed cables. Black-centered sunflowers grow along the base of the counter. Meat is visible on the work surface and in the refrigerator.
A close view shows a dome-shaped camera mounted against the refrigerator’s meat-covered exterior beside small lights. These visible fittings do not establish who operates the room or whether the camera is monitored.
Recorded use
An unnamed preparer retrieves meat, picks flowers, mixes the ingredients in a metal bowl and eats while seated on the floor. The narration calls the space the meal room and presents the meal as a familiar preparation.
The room’s location, ownership, relationship to other facilities and date of operation are not supplied. The preparer is not named.
The dark room
A narrow tiled passage leads to an unlit doorway. After the eating sequence, the preparer walks down the passage and enters the darkness. Dark vapor-like wisps gather near the threshold in the final view.
The narrator reports an overwhelming urge to enter after a few bites of the meal, an inability to think of anything else until entering, and no memory of events inside or of leaving. The recording does not show the interior or an exit, and it supplies no explanation for the missing recollection.
